Total SE CGT union representative Thierry Defresne announced on Monday that the company "is considering a voluntary departure plan that could lead to 700 job cuts in France."

Defresne tweeted that the plan refers to the whole country, except for the refineries of Donge and Grandpuits. Also, he stated that there is no hiring planned for any department but the ones that involve research and development, and technology.

According to local media reports, Total claims that the discussions for the plan have just begun and no actual figures could be confirmed at this stage.
