Pelosi to seek pardon limit after Trump's Stone move

Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi announced on Saturday she will ask Congress to limit presidential power to pardon and commute sentences.

"Legislation is needed to ensure that no President can pardon or commute the sentence of an individual who is engaged in a cover-up campaign to shield that President from criminal prosecution," she said and called the commutation of Roger Stone "an act of staggering corruption."

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump decided to commute the punishment of his former advisor Roger Stone, sentenced to 40 months of prison for obstruction of justice, attracting criticism from both the Democrats and Republicans.
