Russia: Latin America first to get our coronavirus drug

Saturday, 11. July 2020 18:32

Latin American countries with the highest rises in coronavirus infections will be the first to receive Russia's first drug against COVID-19 Avifavir, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Russian Direct Investment Fund's (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev announced on Saturday.

"Our priority is those countries where the number of coronavirus infections is sharply increasing. This is, of course, Brazil and many other Latin American countries," Dmitriev said. "We are ready to work in partnership to export the drug and support Latin American states in their fight against the pandemic."

Russia confirmed earlier this week that one of the 47 medications against coronavirus it was working on has proved to create immunity and said it was ready to supply antiviral agents to the world market.
