Treasuries higher ahead of Fed decision

United States government bonds were higher on Wednesday ahead of the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision. Policymakers are widely expected to keep rates unchanged at their last meeting of 2019 after cutting rates three times.

The yield on benchmark 10-year Treasuries eased 2.5 basis points to 1.81% at 12:51 pm ET, while the yield on two-year bonds declined 0.8 basis points to 1.646%. The yield on 30-year debt fell 4 basis points to 2.228% at the same time.

Corresponding futures were up 0.18%, 0.02% and 0.39% respectively at 12:57 pm ET.
