EIA: US oil inventories up by 9.3M barrels

Crude oil inventories in the United States increased by 9.3 million barrels to 434.9 million barrels in the week ending October 11, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported on Thursday.

US crude oil refinery inputs averaged 15.4 million barrels per day, down by 221,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Refineries operated at 83.1% of their capacity while gasoline production decreased, averaging 10 million barrels per day.

Imports of crude oil in the US averaged 6.3 million barrels per day, up by 70,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories fell by 1.6 million barrels.
