Nasdaq falls 200 points amid tech sell-off

Major stock markets in the United States significantly extended losses on Thursday only an hour after the opening bell, pulled by the decline of the technology sector.

Nasdaq fell 200 points led by Alphabet, Apple and Microsoft that all went down more than 1%. Tesla dropped over 3%.

The Dow Jones sank 0.43% or 139 points at 10:59 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 plunged 1.25% a minute later. The S&P 500 fell 0.75% at the same time.

The euro rose 0.44% against the dollar to go for 1.22212 at 11:01 am ET.
