Swiss multinational food and drink processing conglomerate corporation Nestle said on Thursday it intends to invest 3.2 billion Swiss francs ($3.58 billion) during the next five years in order to reduce its climate impact to net-zero emissions by 2050.

The company added that it plans to collaborate with farmers and producers in order to bolster so-called regenerative agriculture, plant hundreds of millions of trees, and switch to sustainable sources of energy by 2025.

The investment will, according to the statement, be financed through the company’s operational and structural efficiencies.
