EU's Breton invites Big Tech CEOs to discuss regulations

Thursday, 19. November 2020 16:24

European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton (pictured) invited on Thursday tech companies among which are Facebook, Microsoft, Alphabet and Apple to a video conference on November 24 in order to talk about Digital Services Act (DSA) and Digital Markets Act (DMA).

The DSA demands that tech companies explain their algorithms and give insight into their ad archives to regulators and researchers.

The EU wants to make tech giants more responsible for the content on their platforms and to ensure that competitors have a fair chance to succeed against the big firms. Breton plans to present the draft of the DSA with Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager on December 9.
