Asia mostly up on COVID vaccine optimism

Shares in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher on Wednesday after the leader of the World's greatest economy US President Donald Trump boasted about developments on the coronavirus vaccine front.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng went up by 0.76% at 04:52 am CET, as South Korea's Kospi Composite gained 0.32%. The Australian S&P/ASX 200 advanced by 0.11% a minute later, with Japan's Nikkei 225 adding 0.47% at 4:30 am CET. At 04:56 am CET the dollar fell 0.12% against the yen, going for ¥105.3735.

In mainland China, however, the Shanghai Composite went 0.45% down at 04:54 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite losing 1.08% a minute later.
