Amazon partners Universal Music, Warner Music in remastering deal

American multinational technology giant Amazon.com announced on Friday it has partnered with Universal Music and Warner Music in a remastering music business deal. Three companies said they plan to remaster popular songs to "better-than-CD audio quality."

Steve Boom, Amazon’s head of music said that "there is a real business case to take high-quality audio to the mainstream," adding that this will be the company's focus from now on.

According to the company’s announcement, the service will cost $15 a month, or $13 a month for members of its Prime shipping program.
