Amazon announced on Wednesday the beginning of a partnership with India's third-largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel Ltd as part of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud expansion service. The deal is part of the marketing expansion scheme for the cloud market in India.

Puneet Chandok, President of AWS in India and South Asia, confirmed the deal with the statement, "AWS brings over 175 services to the table. We pretty much support any workload on the cloud. We have the largest and the most vibrant community of customers."

Previously, Bharti Airtel Ltd expanded its strategic partnership with Netflix and as a result, new subscribers received a 3-month Netflix subscription by selecting certain broadband plans.
