Biden to take nomination at smaller convention

The Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) announced Joe Biden is to accept the party's nomination for the presidential candidate at a reduced convention that will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, between August 17 and 20.

The convention will be moved from the initially planned Fiserv Forum to the smaller Wisconsin Center as the number of coronavirus infections in the United States continues to grow. "Unlike this president, Joe Biden and Democrats are committed to protecting the health and safety of the American people," the DNCC chair Tom Perez said.

Biden most recently won the primary elections in Kentucky and New York, having previously secured enough delegates to earn the nomination.
