Trading on Wall Street finished mixed on Thursday after a choppy session. Traders continued to monitor the coronavirus pandemic, particularly the second flare-up of the disease in China, the original COVID-19 epicenter.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump's former National Security Adviser John Bolton released a memoir on his days in the White House in which he accused the president of seeking Chinese help to win reelection.

The Dow Jones declined 0.15% at the close with American Express as the worst performer. The S&P 500 was up 0.06%. The Nasdaq 100 gained 0.30% as Liberty Global led the gains. The euro fell 0.37% against the dollar at 4:00 pm ET, buying 1.12020.
