US markets close in green after FOMC meeting minutes

Stocks on the United States markets closed in the green on Wednesday following the Federal Open Market Committee meeting minutes, in which the Federal Reserve officials concluded interest rates will for now remain unchanged. In business news, Nvidia, Tesla and Virgin Galactic extended increases, leading the Wall Street gains. Meanwhile, the coronavirus death toll passed 2,000, while over 75,000 infected cases were registered.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.40% at the close, as Goldman Sachs rose 1.77%. The Nasdaq 100 added 0.92% at the end, with Tesla's shares surging 6.88%. The S&P 500 rose 0.47% at the finish. Nvidia was among the top gainers with an increase of 6.11%. Both the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 closed with a fresh record high.

The euro traded flat against the dollar, going for $1.08100 at 4:01 pm ET.
