Wall Street declines premarket amid earnings

Stocks in the United States declined in premarket trading on Tuesday as investors focused on corporate earnings and awaited the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision scheduled for later this week. Companies including General Motors, Pfizer and Mastercard are due to report before the bell, while Amgen and Mondelez are set to announce their quarterly results after today's session ends. After Monday's session, Google parent Alphabet reported a 23% drop in net income, thus missing analysts' expectations.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.10% at 4:37 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 fell 0.22% and the S&P 500 was down 0.11% at the same time.

The euro decreased 0.16% against the dollar to sell for 1.10818 at 4:38 am ET and the pound dipped 0.10% compared to the US currency to sell for 1.28450 at the same time.
