US stocks turn positive premarket as earnings come in

Stocks in the United States turned positive in premarket trading on Friday after several companies posted better-than-expected earnings. American Express, Coca-Cola and Schlumberger all beat estimates as they reported their third-quarter results before the bell.

The Dow Jones added 0.08% premarket at 7:50 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 rose 0.10% and the S&P 500 was up 0.02% at the same time.

The euro gained 0.17% against the dollar to sell for 1.11437 at 7:51 am ET and the pound traded 0.05% higher compared to the greenback to go for 1.28961 at the same time.
