NBC streaming service Peacock to launch in April 2020

The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) named its streaming service Peacock and will launch it in April 2020, NBC's parent company NBCUniversal announced on Tuesday.

"Peacock is a nod to NBC’s iconic logo and NBCUniversal’s rich legacy of creating beloved films, TV series, characters and franchises that have been at the epicenter of pop culture and will continue to define the future of entertainment," the company press release read.

Subscription details and pricing of the service will be announced closer to the launch date. The service will boast over 15,000 hours of content and the catalog will include some of the most popular NBC shows, such as "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation." The company also plans to reboot its popular shows "Saved by the Bell" and "Punky Brewster."
