Asian markets trade higher with data in focus

Stocks in Asia traded with gains in early trading on Monday as investors digested data from China and Japan, as well as upbeat jobs figures from the United States. Japan's annual GDP growth for the second quarter was reported at 1.3%, in line with market estimates. Meanwhile, China's exports unexpectedly dropped in August amid the country's trade tensions with the US.

The Nikkei 225 rose 0.44% at 4:06 am CET. The dollar dipped 0.03% against the yen to sell for 106.8905 at 4:29 am CET.

The Shanghai Composite added 0.47% at 4:29 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite climbed 0.73% at 4:17 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up by 0.09% at 4:35 am CET.

In Korea, the Kospi gained 0.63% at 4:15 am CET and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 increased by 0.13% at 4:36 am CET.
