European equities mostly flat before the bell

European shares were mostly flat premarket shortly before the bell on Friday, after Nestle, Renault and Eni reported their latest financial results. Audi is expected to do the same later in the day. Investors also digested remarks from the European Central Bank President Mario Draghi from yesterday, following the central bank's decision to hold rates for now.

In data, Germany's import prices declined further in June while the growth of export prices subdued.

The DAX climbed 0.08%, while the CAC 40 and the FTSE 100 traded flat.

The euro was flat against the dollar, buying $1.11450 at 8:58 am CET, while the pound sank 0.18% compared to the greenback at the same time, going for $1.24316.
