Comcast won't buy T-Mobile, Sprint spectrum

United States telecommunications conglomerate Comcast is not interested in a spectrum deal with T-Mobile and Sprint if their merger goes through, CNBC reported on Friday.

A Comcast spokesman told the media outlet that the company does not have any interest in acquiring a divested spectrum from the transaction between T-Mobile and Sprint. Another source added that Comcast was also uninterested in purchasing Boost Mobile, which the two companies agreed to sell as part of their deal with the Federal Communications Commission. Other media previously reported on Thursday that Amazon is considering acquiring Boost as well as any divested wireless spectrum.

Media reported earlier this month that the United States Department of Justice was leaning towards blocking T-Mobile and Sprint's merger. Officials were reportedly unsatisfied by the merger remedies proposed by the two telecommuniations giants, deeming them insufficient to allay any antitrust concerns.
