Wall Street closes in the green after tariff delay

Major stock indices in the United States ended the trading session on Wednesday in the green, reclaiming most of the losses from the start of the trading day. Earlier today, it was reported that US President Donald Trump would delay imposing tariffs on auto imports for up to six months. Reportedly, the White House will await the outcome of trade talks with the European Union and Japan, among other countries, before it makes the next move regarding the issue.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.45% at the end of the session with Visa Inc. leading the gains adding 1.60%. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 jumped 1.37% thanks to BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc.'s shares soaring 7.54%. The S&P 500 gained 0.58% at the closing bell with Coty Inc. as the best performer whose shares skyrocketed 9.65%.

The euro was flat against the US dollar, changing hands for 1.1204 at 4:00 pm ET.
