Europe opens with gains ahead of ECB decision

European markets opened with gains on Thursday as SAPUnilever and EasyJet posted their quarterly earnings and investors awaited the European Central Bank's decision on interest rates.

The DAX rose 0.50% at 9:13 am CET, led by ThyssenKrupp which increased 2.63% after the company announced, following an internal investigation, there was no corruption involved in its Israel submarine deal.

The EuroStoxx 50 gained 0.45% at 9:13 am CET.

The CAC 40 was 0.50% higher at 9:13 am CET. Publicis Groupe jumped 3.85% after the world's third-largest communications company posted its results for the first six months of 2017.

The FTSE 100 increased 0.25% at 9:12 am CET, with Ashtead Group rising 3.25%.

The euro increased slightly against the dollar, gaining 0.07% to go for 1.15228 at 9:01 am CET.
