Asia trades mostly higher amid earnings, data

Stock exchanges in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher on Wednesday after Toyota reported its quarterly earnings, with Sony and Honda expected to do so after the markets close in Tokyo. Also, investors monitored the latest business activity data reports from China and Japan.

The Nikkei 225 declined 0.25% at 7:09 am CET. The Shanghai Composite increased by 0.56% at 5:30 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite Index was 0.93% higher at 7:09 am CET. The Hang Seng rose by 1.25% at 7:10 am CET. The Kospi gained 1.23% at the same time. The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia grew 0.33% at 7:11 am CET.

The dollar was flat compared to the Japanese yen at 7:12 am CET, trading for 109.0590.
