Google to put $75 million into SMEs outside US

Google announced on Wednesday that it will invest $75 million in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) outside of the United States.

The company will put $15 million and $10 million into two separate funds of the European Investment Fund and will also invest $8 million through the Inter-American Development Bank's innovation lab. Furthermore, Google said it will work with non-governmental organizations in Africa, the Middle East, Indonesia, India on the rest of the investments.

The tech giant added that SMEs need help to recover in the time of the pandemic, especially in regard to capital access and building resilience for the future.
