Europe lower premarket amid virus worries

Equities on major European stock markets were lower in premarket trade on Monday after German Economy Minister Peter Altmaier noted that the slowdown of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the country is taking longer than expected. Meanwhile, investors awaited economic data reports on the number of mortgage approvals in the United Kingdom in the month of October and consumer prices in Germany in November.

The DAX lost 0.72% and London's FTSE 100 decreased by 0.63% at 7:38 am CET. The CAC 40 was 0.56% down at 7:30 am CET.

The euro was 0.10% higher compared to the dollar at 7:39 am CET, trading at 1.19731. The British pound advanced 0.38% against the American currency, going for 1.33457 concurrently.
