Online shopping for Thanksgiving in the United States jumped 22% on the year to hit a record $5.1 billion, according to Adobe Analytics data released on Friday.

Online sales on Thanksgiving Day in 2019 were reported at $4.22 billion.

The coronavirus pandemic has pushed more consumers online, while major retailers spread out shopping events in order to avoid crowding at stores for traditional one-day sales.
