Over 1,700 refugees returned to Nagorno-Karabakh over the past 24 hours, Russia's Defense Ministry revealed on Thursday.

The ministry added that Russian peacekeepers helped with the operation, escorting buses that departed from Yerevan.

The return of refugees took place as a result of the ceasefire agreement on Nagorno-Karabakh signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
