Europe opens higher after Chinese GDP data

Major stock market indexes in Europe opened in the green on Monday after data showed the Chinese GDP grew 4.9% in the third quarter. Meanwhile, investors remained cautious of COVID-19-linked restrictive measures in Europe and a deadlock in Brexit negotiations.

The DAX rose 0.84% at 9:05 am CET as Linde gained 1.36% at the same time. The CAC 40 was 0.40% in the green in the first minute of trading and Engie increased by 1.41% at 9:02 am CET. The FTSE 100 gained 0.07% at 9 am CET as Rolls-Royce jumped 2.25% at 9:02 am CET.

The euro was flat compared to the dollar, going for 1.17120 at 9:04 am CET and the pound rose 0.31% at the same time against the greenback to change hands for 1.29595.
