AMD unveils new Ryzen 5000 CPU lineup

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) unveiled on Thursday four new Ryzen 5000-series desktop computer processors, based on the Zen 3 architecture.

Ryzen 9 5950X is the most powerful of the four, boasting 16-cores and 32 threads with a max boost speed of 4.9GHz and will cost $799. Ryzen 9 5900X, described by the company as the "world's best gaming CPU," will be available for $549 and has 12 cores and 24 threads CPU and 4.8GHz boost clock speed. Eight-core Ryzen 7 5800X and six-core Ryzen 5 5600X will have max boost speeds of 4.7Ghz and 4.6Ghz, respectively. The former's price is $449, and the latter will cost $299.

All CPUs will be available for purchase from November 5.
