Europe opens higher on US stimulus talks

European stock markets opened in the green on Thursday after United States President Donald Trump announced he supports aid to airlines and other stimulus measures. Meanwhile, investors are waiting for the account of the European Central Bank's September policy meeting. Bank of England (BoE) Governor Andrew Bailey stated that the second wave of coronavirus is not likely to have as severe an impact on the United Kingdom's economy as the first one.

The FTSE 100 added 0.31% at 9:00 am CET with Taylor Wimpey Plc growing by 1.33% a minute later. The DAX rose 0.63% at the same time with Basf SE rising by 1.63%. The CAC 40 was up 0.59% at 9:01 am CET. Airbus SE was the best performer going up by 1.50%.

The euro grew against the dollar by 0.12% to sell for 1.17782 at 8:56 am CET, while the pound increased by 0.23% against the US currency to go for 1.29482 at the same time.
