Europe opens higher after Trump return from hospital

European stock markets opened in the green on Tuesday after United States President Donald Trump left the hospital to continue his coronavirus treatment at the White House. Investors also digested better-than-expected German factory orders figures and awaited UK construction PMI data.

The FTSE 100 added 0.13% at 9:00 am CET with Fresnillo jumping 1.35% at 9:01 am CET.

The DAX rose 0.24% at 9:01 am CET. The best performer was BASF, whose shares climbed 0.79% at 9:02 am CET.

The CAC 40 was up 0.20% at 9:00 am CET. Engie led the gains, rising 1.74% at 9:02 am CET.

The euro was flat compared to the dollar to sell for 1.17832 at 9:02 am CET, while the pound increased by 0.06% against the US currency to go for 1.29875 at the same time.
