Europe ends session mostly lower

Major European stock markets closed lower on Wednesday with the pandemic in focus. Speaking at the House of Commons British Prime Minister Boris Johnson defended the Internal Market Bill, while the latest report showed UK's GDP declined by 21.5%.

The FTSE 100 lost 0.53% at the closing bell with Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC falling 6.98%. The DAX decreased by 0.51% as Covestro AG shares sank 7.19%. The CAC 40 fell by 0.59%, Worldline reported a slip of 3.02%.

The euro stood flat against the dollar to sell for 1.17447 at 5:28 pm CET, while the pound rose 0.54% compared to the US currency to go for 1.29313 a minute later.
