Europe closes higher after encouraging UK data

Major European stock markets traded higher at the closing after the United Kingdom posted encouraging news regarding the trade deal with Japan that has been principally agreed on. Also, the country's industrial production went up by 5.2% in July while the trade surplus rose to £6.4 billion. Meanwhile, European Central Bank Executive Board member Philip Lane stated EU economic recovery is on track.

The DAX 40 traded 0.06% at the closing. Deutsche Boerse was the best performer rising by 1.89%. The FTSE 100 went up by 0.68% as Aviva Plc increased by 5.68%. The CAC 40 rose by 0.50% with LVMH jumping by 3.13%.

The euro went up by 0.18% to the dollar to sell for $1.18360 at 5:29 pm CET. At the same time, the pound sterling decreased by 0.20% compared to the greenback to the exchange rate of $1.27806.
