Heathrow CEO: Aviation devastated by lockdowns

Aviation has been "devastated" by lockdowns around the world, Healthrow Airport CEO John Holland-Kaye told Sky News on Friday.

Holland-Kaye stressed that the number of passengers at Heathrow dropped by 97% between March and May.

According to official passenger statistics on the Heathrow Airport website, the airport's passenger numbers fell from 5,441,862 in February to 227,230 in May. The lowest number of passengers recorded was in April when the airport saw 206,324 people travel amid the coronavirus pandemic.
