France will set aside €15 billion for the recovery of the aerospace industry, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Tuesday.

The minister said that the aviation industry is in "a state of emergency" and that recovery in the sector will likely be slow. However, Le Marie stressed that France needs to ensure its aerospace industry remains competitive and becomes more green.

He added that France and Europe cannot hand over industry leadership to the American Boeing and China's Comac.
