Airbus could reach for a 500 job employment reduction in its United Kingdom unit as it mulls over possible ways to respond to the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The majority of said downsizing is to take place in its factory in Broughton, North Wales, where workers close to retirement could be offered voluntary redundancy, according to the Guardian’s report published on Friday.

Airbus is not the only aircraft manufacturer facing job cuts, as Boeing and Bombardier recently announced similar measures.
