Aston Martin confirmed on Tuesday that Mercedes-AMG head Tobias Moers will replace Andy Palmer as the company's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) starting from August 1.

Lawrence Stroll, the Executive Chairman of the British car manufacturer, said Moers was "the right leader for Aston Martin as we implement our strategy for the business to achieve its full potential," while Moers himself stressed this move as a "significant opportunity to harness the strengths of the business to successfully deliver the planned product expansion and brand elevation."

Aston Martin suffered a 14% drop in sales due to the coronavirus pandemic, which caused the company to suspend its production in the United Kingdom and furlough its employees.
