PIA's Airbus A320 plane crashes in Karachi

Pakistani Civil Aviation Authority confirmed on Friday that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane with 107 people on board crashed in the country's city of Karachi.

The Airbus A320 aircraft, carrying 99 passengers and eight crew members, crashed in the city's residential area on its way to the Jinnah International Airport. PIA's CEO Arshad Malik said the pilot claimed in his final words the plane encountered a technical fault just before the crash.

Shortly after the accident, Karachi's Mayor Waseem Akhtar informed that unfortunately no survivors from the plane crash have been found so far.
