Airbus SE engaged in talks with the French government on potential state support to curb the coronavirus impact on its business, the company's Chief Executive Officer Guillaume Faury (pictured) stated on Thursday.

"In crises of such importance and crises which are as global as this, one needs states to help. States have an absolutely essential role to play. We are holding very frequent discussions. The state is very willing to listen and is very understanding of our position," European aerospace corporation's head told RTL.

On Wednesday, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire asserted that the government could provide Airbus with "massive" aid, adding that Air France KLM needs to be "a good customer" to the planemaker after it received €7 billion in state support.
