New car sales in Europe drop over 50% due to COVID-19 - ACEA

European Auto Industry Association (ACEA) reported on Tuesday passenger car sales decreased by 51.8% in the European Union, Britain, and the European Free Trade Association countries.

All countries reported a drop in sales. Italy registered the biggest decrease, with sales plunging over 80%, followed by France and Spain.

Groupe Renault and Groupe PSA both posted a sales decrease of over 60%, while the decline of sales of Volkswagen AG, BMW AG, and Daimler AG stood around 40%.
