Daimler AG does not need state aid and is currently in "good shape," the company's chief executive Ola Kaellenius said on Monday, warning, however, that the automaker may need to reconsider its investments if the COVID-19 crisis persists for a longer period of time.

Speaking to Handelsblatt, the executive stated the car industry was in a "very good" shape before the pandemic and that Daimler has solid liquidity, asserting its employees' jobs were not in danger of getting laid off.

In addition, Kaellenius said the German company won't suspend its dividend.
