Kuroda: Action needed to maintain market stability

Monday, 09. March 2020 07:03

The Bank of Japan will act "without hesitation" when needed in order to achieve market stability, the central bank's Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said on Monday in his country's parliament.

He noted that the coronavirus led to investor fears and pointed out that uncertainty has risen over the past few months as a result of the outbreak.

Kuroda's comments come as the Nikkei 225 dropped over 5% on Monday as oil prices plunged and COVID-19 uncertainty lingered over investor sentiment.
