Naughton stepping down as Google HR chief

Tuesday, 11. February 2020 04:22

Eileen Naughton is stepping down as the vice president of People Operations at Google, the company revealed in a statement. She claimed to be resigning from her post so she could return home to New York.

Naughton will not leave the company, but instead take a different role, which the head of Google and its parent company Alphabet Sundar Pichai said he is looking forward to.

The stepping down follows a series of protests during her time as head of human resources, including ones against signing the artificial intelligence contract with the Pentagon, as well as those over leadership's way of handling sexual misconduct allegations.
