French prosecutors announced on Friday that aerospace giant Airbus SE agreed to pay a total of €3.59 billion to settle corruption charges on a global level.

According to the prosecutors, the company will pay €2.08 billion in France, while the rest will be paid to settle similar cases in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Earlier this week, Airbus said it reached agreements in principle to settle cases into alleged bribery and corruption with authorities in all three countries, but didn't disclose the details and stressed the deals still need to be finally approved.
