Airbus to sell 100 planes to Spirit Airlines

American low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines Inc. said it will purchase 100 jets from Airbus SE, with an option for additional 50 orders. The order includes A319, A320, and A321 neo models and sets the deadline for delivery at 2027. The value of the purchase was not disclosed, but estimates put it upwards of $5 billion.

There are 140 planes made by Airbus in Spirit's fleet as of now.

The airline also announced the promotion of Matt Klein to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
