Dow jumps 100 points after China confirms US trade deal

Markets in the United States rebounded on Friday with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging over 100 points after China confirmed it reached a phase one trade agreement with the US.

The Dow Jones jumped 0.41% or 115 points at 10:10 am ET. 3M led the gains, adding 1.44% at 10:11 am ET.

The Nasdaq 100 climbed 0.56% at 10:12 am ET. The best performer was Adobe, whose shares soared 4.93% after the company posted better-than-expected fourth-quarter earnings a day earlier.

The S&P 500 gained 0.26% at 10:14 am ET with PPL Corp rallying 5.14% at 10:12 am ET.

The euro traded flat against the dollar to go for 1.11349 at 10:15 am ET.
