Ross to deescalate trade issues with EU through talks

United States Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross suggested in an interview for the Financial Times that negotiations could be a way to ease trade tensions between his country and the European Union.

American President Donald Trump's administration had warned that it could introduce tariffs on European cars and it caused more tension in the US-EU trade relations. Previously, Washington decided to impose tariffs on $7.5 billion of imports from the EU over illegal subsidies to Airbus SE.

Ross also estimated that there was a "far better than 50/50" chance that a limited trade deal between Washington and Beijing is "signable" at the APEC summit in Chile, scheduled for November.
