Europe ends mixed amid earnings, data

European markets closed mixed on Tuesday as investors remained focused on a string of corporate earnings released before the closing bell. Airbus, Lufthansa, Glencore, and BP were among the biggest companies that reported their financial results. Meanwhile, market watchers also digested economic data, including the EU GDP and employment rate releases.

In Germany, the DAX was the only index trading higher, up 0.13% at the end of the session. Deutsche Boerse was among the main advancers, rising 1.67%.

French CAC 40 almost completely flat, adding 0.01%. Total recorded the biggest gains, increasing 1.59%.

In London, the FTSE 100 finished 0.24% lower.

The euro rose 0.18% against the US dollar to go for 1.1205 at 5:33 pm CET while the European currency decreased 0.54% against the British pound to sell for 0.8600 at the same time.
