BOCA RATON, Fla., April 03, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ADT Inc. (NYSE:ADT), the leading provider of monitored security and interactive home and business automation solutions in the United States and Canada, celebrated one of its LifeSaver events today in Colorado Springs where ADT Customer Angela Campbell demonstrated how she trained her dogs to escape when a fire alarm activates. The training paid recently paid off when two of Campbell’s four dogs were home alone. Thick smoke from a kitchen fire permeated the house, activating an ADT alarm. The security system signaled ADT’s Customer Care Center in Rochester, NY where Dispatcher Bob Duerr followed up. “When the ADT guy called me, I said it was a real fire and to send first responders,” said Campbell. “I was concerned about my dogs and if they would follow their training and scurry out the doggie door once they heard the alarm.” Campbell was relieved when she returned home and found the dogs safely outside in the backyard. “I am impressed with the speed and efficiency of ADT and the Colorado Springs Fire Department,” said Campbell. “Without the ADT alarm, my house would have continued burning and the dogs would’ve suffered.” During today’s LifeSaver event, Duerr flew 2,000 miles from upstate New York to meet Campbell and her dogs. She thanked him for a job well done as he was presented ADT’s highest honor. “This is the second time in a year I’ve received an ADT LifeSaver Award for saving pets from a fire,” said Duerr. “I am happy my work is making a difference for people and their pets.” ADT also presented $5,000 to the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
