Deutsche Boerse: No concrete plans to launch Bitcoin futures

Deutsche Boerse does not have any concrete plans to launch Bitcoin futures, a spokesperson confirmed to TeleTrader News on Thursday. "We will look into it, but we are not planning a launch," the exchange clarified.

Earlier, German Wirtschafts Woche reported that Deutsche Boerse was planning to launch Bitcoin futures and follow Cboe and CME in the venture, however, the initial report did not specify that Deutsche Boerse has no definite plans for a launch, but still has to see what they will do in regard to Bitcoin futures.

Bitcoin traded 2.31% higher, going for $16,542 at 2:17 pm CET. The cryptocurrency jumped to an all-time high of over $17,500 after its first futures contracts were launched on Cboe. Bitcoin futures expiring in January went for $17,220 at 14:09 pm CET.
